Our Week at a Glance:
Language Arts: The class finished up their One Word Pearl stories where they had to plug in and highlight fun and exciting words into their written adventures.
It was Tasty Tuesday this week and we made cereal sushi. Click on the picture below and you will find one of your child with their creation. We are still in need of parents to volunteer to bring in materials for April, May & June.
Math: Ask your child to show you which long division strategy is working best for them. We learned many but the majority of the class has chosen to use a simpler version of long division that has them dividing numbers as large as they want (even in the trillions!) very quickly. We will continue to practice our long division skills this week and next week will have our unit test.
Science: Our class finished testing and adapting circuits to make bulbs brighter. They learned many things such as if they add batteries, their bulb lights brighter. However, if they add too many batteries, the bulb burns out. Or if they have more than one bulb, they will likely need more than one battery if they'd like their bulb to burn brighter. We had a great discussion around why these results occur.
Art: Most of the class has finished their rendition of Van Gogh's sunflowers. Wow! Did they ever turn out beautifully!
