Our Week at a Glance:
Language Arts - This week we read and studied a folk tale about the importance of carefully following through with instructions. We also read the book, "One Word Pearl" and began a fun writing project to go with.
Spelling - New words will come home tomorrow but they are already loaded onto Spelling City. Be sure to log in and see your child's score on this past week's test.
Math - We spent the week practicing multiplying 2-digit numbers, learned a new math game using dominos and created multiplication story problems in our math journals.
Science - The class learned about insulators and conductors of electricity. They then tested different materials to see which made the best and worst insulators. We also rebuilt our electromagnets so that we could see how far out the magnetic field reaches using iron fillings.
Art - The Van Gogh sunflowers the class drew look absolutely beautiful. On Friday we began layering and blending colour pencils to bring the work to life.
