Our Week in Review:
Language Arts: This week we learned about how metaphors can be used to improve writing by helping readers create an image in their minds. Later we practiced our show me, don't tell me techniques to improve writing.
Math: We have been focusing on strategies to remember our multiplication facts as well as writing story problems with equations with missing factors. Please encourage your child to practice their basic multiplication facts at home as we will be multiplying 2 digit numbers in the coming week. Having a strong understanding of our basic multiplication facts will make learning this much easier.
Social Studies: the class has been having many interesting discussions about our national parks and preserving them. We even held a class debate to explore further why we have national parks.
