December 12-16

Important Dates & Events:


- Tasty Tuesday this week.
-Friday will be our class Christmas party. We are still looking for people to sign up to bring fruit or cheese and crackers. Please let me know if you're available.
-We attended a special presentation about ninja penguins at Christmas presented by a professional story teller. It was quite entertaining.

-This week we said our goodbye's and well wishes to Miss Boyd who had her last day with us on Friday. We were very lucky to have her and will miss having her in our class. I wish her the best in her last semester of university and all her future adventures.

Our Week at a Glance:


Math: This week we focused on multiplying numbers by 10, 100, 1000. During guided math centers, students used our shakers to further practice this concept, wrote story problems,

Social Studies: We wrapped up our Canadian regions study on Wednesday. Everyone did well on their unit test and their National Park brochures.

Science: On Friday we began our study of electricity and magnetism with a Kahoot that introduced concepts such as:

                  -safely handling electricity.
                  -Naturally and human made electricity
                  -What is static electricity and how is it produced?
                  -What is an atom? What are protons, neutrons & electrons?
