October 24-28

Upcoming Events & Important Information:

***Science tests need to be returned signed by Monday.***

Halloween: Students will have an opportunity to change into their costumes after they eat lunch. At 1:00 we will go to the gym for a costume parade and return back to our classrooms for fun activities and snacks. If you'd like to send a treat for the class, you are welcome to do so. Miss Boyd and I are providing chips and juice boxes.

Our Week In Review:

Language Arts: We finished up our Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs stories. Thank you to Mrs. Ward for binding them into books for us. On Friday everyone will have an opportunity to read their stories to their Kinder Buddies.

Our character study for our novel led us to create life size characters from our books. Each week we will add information onto our characters as we learn more about them from the book.

Tasty Tuesday: Spider Pudding Pie was our feature recipe and the class wrote great recipe reviews to practice their opinion writing.

Spelling: Because of the extra short week, there will be no words assigned.

Science: Tests have been returned and need to be signed and handed back in on Monday.

Social Studies: With Miss Boyd, we began our study of Canada's physical geography by looking at the regions of Canada, it's provinces and capital cities.

Math: Our focus this week was exploring millions. We looked at reading and comparing numbers to the million, just how much a million is, and how many 10's, 100's, 1000's, 10 000's and 100 000's are in a million.

Art: Students finished their covers for their Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs covers. But the most fun was had helping their kinder buddies carve pumpkins.
