Our Week at a Glance:
Language Arts: We continued to work on our Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs stories, writing our body paragraphs and our beginning our excellent endings. This week we will add our finishing touches and have an opportunity to read them to each other.Math: How many 10's in 100? How many 100's in 1000? How many 10's in 1000? These are some of the questions we have been asking and answering in math this week as we began our Whole Numbers unit. We also started our 'Guided Math' centers for the year. After each whole group lesson, the class rotates through a series of centers related to our lesson concept. Centers include:
1. Teacher Group - Class gets a second mini lesson and extra resource on the concept introduced.
2. Buddy Math - Play a math game with a partner related to our topic.
3. Math With Technology - Students use their Chromebooks to practice math concepts.
4. Math By Myself - Students work independently to practice current math concepts.
5. Math Writing - Math journaling and story problem writing related to our concepts.
Science: Our unit test will be on Tuesday. On Friday we made notes to go with the test outline and these were sent home on Friday to study over the weekend. Please have your child bring them back on Monday.
