May 2-6 Weekly Update

Join us for our Celebration of the Masters Art Walk from 3:30-6:00 on Monday. Your child created a beautiful, Picasso inspired piece that will be on display along with their Claude Lewis seascapes.

Our week in review:

Math: This week in math we practiced subtracting 2 digit by 2 digit numbers through various activities and games.

Language Arts: We finished up our alliteration poetry and created beautiful water colour paintings to illustrate our writing. After reading various 'bug stories' as an introduction to our bugs study, students wrote stories about a spider in a garden. Mapping our thoughts and staying on topic was our focus during the writing.

Thank you to the Lions Club, especially Gavin's grandpa, for coming in and reading to our class.

Art: Picasso was a fascinating man who went through many phases throughout his art career. The class was fascinated by his creativity and story. Ask your child to tell you about Pablo Picasso and what they learned about him.
