-4 Cats Art Studios will be here on Thursday at 12:50 to paint Picasso with our class. Extra hands would be helpful. If you are interested and available to help out, please let me know. It will be fun. Also, keep in mind that we're painting so have your child consider that when picking out their clothes for the day.
-What I like about my school poster contest is due on Thursday.
Math - Subtracting numbers has been our key focus this week as well as place value of numbers in 10's and 1's.
Social Studies - Most of the students have now completed their comic page projects using Google Drawings. Using this format, students demonstrate what they know about the natural resources, jobs that are created from them and tourism in our 3 focus communities.
Language Arts - Our phonics focus this week was identifying when to use a g/j or c/k when spelling by learning more about the hard and soft g & c sounds. We have almost all completed our When I Think of the Alphabet alliteration poems. Our reading focus has been on Picasso and the inspiring life that he lived. This is in preperation of our Picasso focused art on Thursday.
Tasty Tuesday- For Tasty Tuesday this week we made Sandwich Kabobs. Thank you Mrs. Kelly for bringing in the supplies. Mrs. Bertrand has voluteered for our May Tasty Tuesday on the last week of May. For pictures of our creations click here.
Health and Wellness - The class got a whole week of Drum Fit fun in P.E. From what I hear, they loved it! In Mind Up we have been practicing breathing to calm our cerebral cortex, mindful posture to help our brains think and what happens to our bodies (especially the brain) when we are playing or resting.
