Week of November 30 Update

Please check the calendar for upcoming dates and deadlines.

**Please fill in your child's ANNIE permission on line for our upcoming trip to see the performance ASAP. ***

Math: We continued to practice using doubles to help up solve addition and subtraction problems. Students completed a math assessment and Mrs. Duperron came in to help me provide more explanation to students who were needing some extra support with some concepts. Our week ended with a discussion and activity about how we can use counting by 2's, 5's and 10's to help us more easily count numbers to 100.

Language Arts: This week students were given 'Tiny Topics' notebooks. We use tiny topics to create big stories. Students are encouraged to write down any tiny topic they may want to write about during our writing times. During writers workshop this week, we chose a topic from our notebooks and began to write beautiful stories.

New word sorts will go out Monday.

Science: This week we mindfully smelled and felt different liquids and described what they smelled like, felt like, looked like (transparent, transluscent) and how they flow (slow, fast).
