***Our class will be presenting at the next Friday assembly on December 4th if you would like to join us. The assembly begins at 8:45.***
-Home reading will be due on Wednesday this week because we are away on Thursday for the field trip.
Use the calendar link above for all other important dates and deadlines.
Language Arts: We have a Tasty Tuesday coming up this week and will be making Oh Canada cookies using strawberries and whip cream. I can imagine the reviews for this will be great. Our reading focus this past week was the /ou/ sound and the different ways it can be spelled. We wrapped up our strangest dreams stories and started using Headsprout. If you are having trouble logging in at home, please let me know.
Spelling: Students will be getting new word sorts this week and the new word activities have been loaded on to spelling city. Because of our field trip Thursday and our PD Day Friday, there will be no spelling test this week. The words you get this week will carry into next week and be tested next Friday.
Math: This week we used what we know about making tens to quickly add other numbers. Our week ended with learning about doubles and near doubles. We are continuing with this concept as we wrap up adding and subtracting to 18. Doubles is also our basic facts concept this week and next.
Science: We tested different materials with magnets to see what is magnetic and what is not.
