Week of November 2-6

Please check the calendar tab above for important dates and deadlines.

-Thank you to all the parents that attended Parent Teacher Interview night. It was great meeting with each of you.

-Remember that we actually only have school Monday and Tuesday next week.

-Christmas card orders are due Tuesday. If you weren't able to make the interviews and preview the card, I have included it in the pictures below. Click on the caption below the picture to preview the entire album.

Language Arts: I have been reassessing reading levels this week and am almost through the entire class. Thank you Mrs. Towne for giving me a bit of extra help with this on Friday afternoon. Our next home reading book exchange will include books chosen from newly assigned levels. Please remember to send home reading books back with your child every Thursday so they can be exchanged.

Your child's new, personalized spelling list has been added to their spelling city account. This can be accessed by clicking the tab above. Word sorts to go with will be sent home on Monday. There will obviously be no spelling test in our short week ahead. Instead we will complete the assessment the following Friday.

Math: Our focus this week was subtraction and finding missing numbers in a subtraction sentence. We solved story problems creating by creating subtraction sentences that correspond and came up with story problems of our own. We will continue to practice these concepts more intensely over the next week and of course through out the year.

Science: Our exploration of magnets has been a great deal of fun. This week students rotated through different magnet centers, testing different types of magnets, what is and isn't magnetic and some of the fun things that can be done with them.
