Education Week Activities in afternoon
Tuesday: Pizza with the Principal (Serenity was a winner!)
Wednesday: Library Day
Language Arts: We started a new writing project using the book, "When I Think of the Alphabet". The class is exploring the use of adjectives when describing what the different letters of the alphabet make them think of.
Math: Almost wrapping up our measurement unit, everyone experimented with using different units to compare weights of classroom objects and compare which is heavier and which is lighter.
Science: Everyone had a blast competing to see who could drop the most drops of water on a penny before its surface tension finally broke. I believe we counted as high as 67 drops of water. The class experiment with various items and liquids in water to see what sorts of liquids can be added to changed surface tension. Our week ended with groups experimenting with various liquids finding if they have the ability to mix with other liquids or if they quickly separate themselves after being shaken. Ask your child how many drops they fit on their penny for this week's blog question.
In art this week our whole school was asked to draw portraits of their classroom teacher. |
Congrats Tyson on being our Student of the Week! |
Can you believe our class finally won the Golden Garbage Can award!?! |
