Monday - Spelling Test
Tuesday- Lice Check
Wednesday - SOS (6:30) and PAC meeting (7:30)
Thursday- Last day to order milk tickets for the school year.
Language Arts - You may have noticed that this week we bumped up to 8 words for our spelling test. In a couple of weeks we will move up again to 10 words per week. Please encourage your child spend a few minutes each week practicing their words. Research has shown there actually is a high correlation between spelling ability and reading ability and we are all about creating better readers.
Math -This week we measured the distance around an object using non-standard units of measurement such as string, paper clips, straws and links. We also explored if a measurement changes if our line is straight or wavy.
Science - Thanks to our 4 volunteers who came on Monday and helped with water centers as we introduced our new topic of Exploring Liquids. Students played with water to learn about its smell, how it moves, how we use it, etc. We ended our week learning about being safe when it comes to smelling various liquids, describing how they smell, feel, move and if they are transparent or opaque. Ask your child which liquid I didn't let them smell because I forgot it in a bag behind my desk for 4 days and write it in their agendas for this weeks blog question.
