Mapping Wrap Up!

As a finale to our mapping unit we created the 3D Town of TwoAyPea!
Students were instructed to create building using recyclable materials and then trace their building. Adding to our map we realized we needed roads and parking lots and added those to our map as well. Each student made at least one building and then created a symbol to represent their building on the map. These symbols were later copied and used to create a giant legend for the map!

To begin the project we looked at
Gathering our Bird's Eye View
images of New York City from "aerial view" and "bird's eye view" to contrast the different things you can see and notice. Then we switched our view to street view, which resembles a street map.
Bird's Eye View
Once we built our 3D  map we stood from the side, crouched, and observed our aerial view. Then we walked through our city to experience bird's eye view.

Thanks again for all the recycling! Everyone did amazing work and were very excited about this project!
