2AK May News
It's Education Week! RBES storytelling, art, and poetry displays are around the town. Keep an eye out in our community for this special celebration of learning!
The month of May is Rainbow Lunch month. This is intended to build student awareness on healthy eating and making good food choices. A Rainbow lunch does not necessarily mean a colourful lunch! But eating fruits and vegetables in a rainbow of colours is a healthy choice. :) So what is a Rainbow Lunch? A Rainbow lunch has a food from each of the 4 food groups. A student who brings a lunch containing all 4 food groups will receive a punch on their rainbow lunch card. After 10 punches, the card goes in the draw for prizes; the grand prize being a rainbow lunch with the principal! A note has been sent home with more info and ideas for lunches.
Monday May 5th is Spell A Thon day! Thank you everyone who sponsored the students! The funds raised will bring in some fine-art programming. Students have a chance to win prizes for money raised and the class with the most words spelled correctly wins a special treat!
Wednesday, May 7th is Early Dismissal. Student pick up is 2:15pm.
Wednesday is also Family Yoga Night (6-7pm)! Teacher Dawn, who has been doing Yoga with us every month, will be here for a night of yoga fun and relaxation. Come see what we have learned.
