In the freezing days of winter I just want to remind everyone to make sure you are dressing prepared for the weather with a toque, mitts & snow pants.
Math: Our multiplication and division test will be on Monday. From there we are moving on to multiplying and dividing larger numbers. I have sent the math packs home with 2 new games to try out. Please encourage your child to play the games often as they really do help with learning some of those basic facts in a fun way.
Social Studies: We have been talking about natural resources, fossil fuels and non-renewable resources this week. Yesterday we separated oil sand through a hot water process and looked at the before and after of the removal of oil from the sand. I would love to get my hands on a sample of bitumen to keep in the classroom so they can see the actual final product from the oil sands. If you have a way of getting me some, please let me know. I do have an ample supply of oil sand and tailing sand already.
Language Arts: Some students have yet to bring back a single home reading log sheet. Please encourage your child to be reading at least 20 minutes per night. Practice leads to improvement.
Have a great weekend and stay warm!
