I hope everyone had a great Christmas break!
Math News:
We are wrapping up our basic multiplication and division unit and will be moving on to multiplying and dividing larger numbers next. There will be a math test on Monday covering these concepts. It's also important that the kids have a strong understanding of their basic multiplication facts. This will be a huge help when we begin working with larger numbers.
Language Arts:
We now have our Daily 5 routine completely underway and it seems to be a real hit. We are also starting a unit this week where we explore legends and folk tales.
Spelling:
I have posted the new spelling words on the blog and on Spelling city. The spelling test will be on the 18th.
Social:
We started the week by introducing the discussing what a natural resource is, renewable and non-renewable resources and how abundant Alberta is in these resources. We will continue with these discussions through the week as well as forms of renewable energy.
Just a reminder that milk program doesn't start back up until Friday.
