Skating, Christmas, Pajamas, Oh My!

There is so much this week to talk about I will just list it all below...

1. Skating starts next week. We skate from 1-2 each day but Thursday (8:50-9:50). If you are available to help tie skates, we would love the help! If you want to skate with your child, you are very welcome to. There are still a handful of students missing their forms. Remember, Mr. G has skates and helmets in all sizes so if your child has outgrown theirs and you haven't upgraded yet, don't panic.

2. Christmas Party: All we need is for one person to sign up for napkins and we are golden. Because of skating, we are going to have our party after morning recess instead of the afternoon.

3. It is milk, cookie and pajama day on Thursday. The school is providing milk for each student (white) and we are looking for parents to donate cookies for the event. I know you are probably getting tired of baking as you prep for Christmas but if you get a chance to make an "extra batch", please let me know.

4. On Thursday afternoon we are going to have a musician perform for the kids from 1-2. You are also welcome to join us for that.

5. Spelling test will be on Thursday. The new words have been posted.

6. Kleenex - With snot season underway, we are going through kleenex like it's going out style in here. If you have an extra box collecting dust in your cupboard, we would gladly give it a home. We are down to just one last box (Thank you Wanda P for that one.).

7. In math this week we have expanded more on learning different strategies for multiplication and will begin introducing division in the weeks to come.

8. In social studies the kids have been plugging away on their regions project. They are having a lot of fun with it and I have to almost tear it away from them some days so we can do other things. I'm glad they are enjoying it as much as they are. We have also been discussing Alberta's climate and how it affects the way people live and where they choose to live.

9. Secret blog question: Ask your child about a precaution Albertan's take to prepare for extreme weather.

10. PHEW! That's it! Have a great weekend.
