Our Week at a Glance:

Language Arts: As we read through our novel, we dove deeper into our character studies and added to our life size characters.

Math: Our focus for the week was estimating and rounding numbers as well as using these skills to solve problems. The week ended with a math test summarizing this and place value concepts to 1 million.

Social Studies: We learned about the climate in the different regions of Canada and created flip books on some of the severe weather events that have taken place in the areas. Furthermore, we began learning about the different natural resources our country provides us with.

Art: Since we are having a presentation on Monday afternoon about Emily Carr, we began our class learning about who Emily Carr was as an artist. The class then began a project to mimic her unique painting style. We will finish and display the projects this week.

In other news: We had our first Fresh Fruit Friday this past week. Our feature fruit was dragon fruit. As students sampled the fruit they learned about how it is full of antioxidants and where it grows.
