Our week at a glance:
Math: This week we looked at different strategies to help us add numbers up to 100. On St. Patrick's Day the class had a math mystery to solve. It was 'The Case of the Missing Leprechaun'. The class had a great time solving math puzzles to discover what happened to the missing Leprechaun.
Language Arts: Breakfast was finally served in our Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs stories and lunch is just cooking. Our goal is to have these almost finished before spring break. Also this week learned how to write an opinion piece and brainstormed reasons we do or do not believe in leprechauns. The class created some very convincing arguments!
Science: I was really impressed with how well the insulators the kids built turned out. We had ice cubes frozen for hours. It looks like the kids used a lot of what they learned about good and bad insulators to help them out. This week we also learned about how we heat houses compared to big buildings such as schools and apartments. We even took a tour of the school's boiler room and saw first hand how our school is heated.
