Back to school Tuesday, April 7th
Early Dismissal, April 8th
Thank you to all the parents that made it out for Student Led Conferences. The turnout was fantastic and the kids seemed really excited to show you all their hard work and learning.
Our field trip to the Telus World of Science was a complete success. We learned all about how magnets work, built our own magnet contraption, froze a balloon in seconds and watched an incredible Imax movie about arctic animals. A big thanks goes out to all the volunteer leaders that came and helped for the day.
Our week in review:
Math: Last week we further explored non-standard units of measurement and began making estimates of how long our heel to toe step is using 3 different units. We also fine tuned our time telling skills. It was nice to see everyone get a chance to show this off to you at student led conferences.
Language Arts: We continued to work on our Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs writing. So far we have written our bold beginning, described the location of our setting and wrote our first paragraph describing what happens during breakfast in the town we imagined.
Social Studies: Everyone should have a nice start on their culture festival project. Be sure to carefully read the note that was sent home last week and feel free to ask any questions.
Zones of Regulation: Last week we focused on the blue zone. When you are in the blue zone, you might feel sad, sick, tired, or lonely. As a class we came up with a list of strategies we can use to get back into the green zone. Discuss this with your child and have them tell you their favourite strategy to put into the agenda for this weeks blog question.![]() |
