What's Happening?

Math: We wrapped up our official unit of adding and subtracting to 100. However, these are ongoing concepts that will be integrated regularly for the remainder of the year. Student were creating their own story problems and publishing them on Kidblog for their classmates to solve.

On Monday we will begin with an introduction to measurement using non-standard units. Thanks again Mr. Wagner for helping me with prepping the supplies for our activities and centers.

Language Arts: Continuing on our polar bear study, we turned our research into informative comic strips using Storyboard That! as a designing tool. The kids had a lot of fun. They are on display in the hall and in the classroom. Ask your child one thing they learned about polar bears and write it into the agenda so they get their prize.

Social Studies: We continued our study of the Acadians discussing their festivals and traditions. Next week we are going to start learning about the Ukrainian culture in Saskatoon.

I apologize because I was at the school tonight until after 7:00 preparing a surprise for the class and when I left I forgot to take my tablet with all the pictures for the blog. I will add the pictures we took on Monday.

A big Thank you to Shantall Galloway who came and helped our grade 2 class on Tuesday afternoon as we painted polar bear mom and cub pictures.
