January 12-16
If you're interested, I am looking for volunteers to help with some art prep work on Monday anytime or Tuesday morning and to help with an art project Tuesday afternoon. Please let me know if you are available for either or both.
Skating: we are skating on the last of the month again at the same times in the morning. I will send the official schedule as soon as I have one.
Math: This week the class learned to add 2 digit by 2 digit numbers. Some did so well I taught them to even to regroup (carry) to add larger numbers. They were so proud of themselves and that they were doing grade 3 math! They learned 3 new math games that take only dice to play. Ask them to show you how. Today we introduced adding 3 numbers using various strategies and will continue this on Monday.
Science: To help us learn what happens when liquids get cooler we made chocolate ice cream. We also learned more about temperature and built our own thermometers. Thanks to our super volunteers who came out for those activities. We couldn't have done it without your help! To learn about how temperature changes throughout the day, we went outside and took the temperature of different areas of the school yard. Ask your child why everything got warmer in the afternoon.
Check out the picture highlights of our week.
