Short Week

Social - I am impressed with how much we managed to cram in such a short week here in 4A. The class is well underway on a social project they are working on collaboratively using Google Docs and Presentations. Did you know that students can access their Google accounts from home? They use the same username and password as they use to log into their netbooks at school. If your child has not memorized them, have them write them in their agenda's on Monday.
Drumheller - We are setting the deadline for parents to sign up as potential volunteers for the Drumheller trip for November 23rd. We will then likely need to draw names to see which parents will be able to attend. Before you sign up, please consider what will be required of parent volunteers:
1. Cost is $140.
2. Assigned a small group of students to supervise and assist with bedtime set up and pack up.
3. This is a no smoking trip as it is a school sponsored trip.
4. Ride the bus and sleep in the hotel with your group.

Please let me know if you would like to have your name added to the list.

Math - We have begun our new math unit on multiplication and division. We are starting with basic multiplication facts. I have explained to the kids that the better they know their basic multiplication facts, the easier this unit is going to be. Please encourage them to practice them a bit at night.

Spelling - I have posted the new spelling words on the blog and on Spelling City. I will have the class add them to their agendas as well on Monday.

Report Cards - These will be handed out on Friday.
