October and Gratitude

This month in our character education we will be focusing on gratitude and how to show it. This works well with the beginning theme of Thanksgiving, and our class had a lot to say about gratitude and how it looks, feels, and sounds!
I especially loved how someone brought up that we need
to show ourselves gratitude as well!

In science we were able to try and make our own temporary magnets! We discovered that when you rub an iron object against a magnet, in one direction, is uses science magic to make that object magnetic! We used scissors and ring magnets to see how many strokes on a magnet it would take to lift 10 staples!

We are continuing to work on our daily 5 and building our writing stamina! We are also still working with long vowel sounds, and reinforcing the knowledge of long a & e patterns and using them in our own personal writing.

Mrs. Angell will be visiting us this week to bring on some math games! Keep posted for updates!
