Our Student of the Week was Tyson! Congratulations Tyson, thank you for staying dedicated to your work and building excellent stamina in reading and writing!
This morning to practice our basic addition math facts we started off with some math games. The games we played today we Simply Doubles, Show Me the Number! and Expand It! These games have students representing numbers concretely, pictorially and symbolically.
If you would like to play these games at home you need dice and click the links for the game sheets.
After lunch we had our annual RBES Costume Parade! FANTASTIC COSTUMES :D

We have finally got the opportunity to work with our grade buddies, 4F. In buddy pairs the students raced all over the school to find true facts about this spooky day. Grade 4's showed astounding leadership and almost everyone found all 18 clues!
In social this week we have continued to discuss maps and their parts. This week we covered the compass rose, and mastering our cardinal directions. We worked with maps and located items and objects based on cardinal directions. Soon we will be creating our own cities!
In language arts we are continuing with Daily 5 and had our own choices this week. Students were given the choices of read to self or writing time and things went great! The students are really valuing this time to work on their personal writing and reading skills. I have gotten the chance to sit with every student and listen to them read and we have some amazing readers in this class!
