September Wrap Up!

It has been a great month of getting to know all of your children! We have an amazing class, and I am cherishing everyday!

Our first month of math we have been covering numbers 0 - 100 and the numerous ways to represent a number! We are successfully skip counting by 2's, 5's, and 10's up to 100 and sometimes higher! Over the next couple of weeks we will be dipping our toes back into place value to represent numbers.

Our Daily 5 is coming along great! We have some astounding readers in this class, and everyone is really enjoying their Read to Self time. As a class, we have been working really hard on building our stamina and are accomplishing our class set goals! With our word work we have been talking a lot about the differences between long and short vowels, and focusing on Long a and Long e sounds.

Magnets magnets magnets! Our magnets unit is testing our best discovery skills! We've got the chance to play with a lot of different magnets and see their effects on other materials! We have been following the scientific method and promoting students to express their curiosity.

Overall, this has been a wonderful month! Character assemblies have been focusing on respect and I am definitely seeing this reflected in my students everyday actions!
