The Grade 2's created with clay on Tuesday morning with Clay Guy. The class found it interesting that the clay came from the earth near Medicine Hat. We needed many helping hands! Thank you to our volunteers: Mrs. Donofrio, Mrs. Mirau, and Mrs. Toogood.
We are looking at our hands because the clay made our hands dry.
The clay felt neat and it was fun to work with as we squished, rolled, and carved.
We learned that if you want to 'glue' two pieces of clay together, you need to scratch on some water with a toothbrush. The water makes the clay feel sticky but it's the scratches that really make it stick.
We enjoyed shaping our creation and adding special details. I won't show them here...it's a surprise!
Clay Guy is firing the clay and it will be back and ready for us to paint in a couple weeks.
Thanks Clay Guy! Yay Clay!
