December 16-20

The last week of school before Christmas has arrived! And what a week it will be! Monday to Thursday we will be skating every morning. We are having a class Christmas party Thursday afternoon. Friday morning it is PJ and Cookie Day; there will be carolling in the gym in the morning and a movie in the afternoon! We will be doing some special art projects and all kinds of Christmas themed school work. It will be a fun-filled week for all!

ELA: Daily 5 and Spelling will continue as usual.

Math: We are continuing with our Elf Measuring unit. The class has enjoyed finding the elves hiding around our class who have left us stuff to measure. We measured using both standard (cm) and non-standard (snapcubes) methods. This week the elves will be hiding something fun for us to measure and make!

Social: We are finishing the first section of our Communities in Canada unit. We were also excited to hear that our Flat Stanley's have started to arrive at their destinations. I know one elf in particular that is having quite the time in Ottawa! He has been to a hockey game and is having fun playing in the Christmas tree! We look forward to the return of our Stanley and Stella's sometime in the new year.

That is all for now! We will be doing quite a lot of activities on Thursday afternoon. If you would like to come help out that day, let me know, we'd be happy to have you!
