Where has this school year gone? I can't believe this is the last week before spring break. We are going to have a jam packed week.
Math - We are going to continue with fractions by finding fractions of a set, comparing and ordering fractions and converting them to decimals. I sent the math packs home last week with 3 new fraction games using the dominos. We will be learning the third game this week. Students will keep them over the spring break so they can play as much as possible.
For some extra online fraction practice go to the Black Gold Engaging Students in math link and scroll down to #8.
Science - At the start of our unit, each student built a little car that we did some experimenting with. This week we are using them again to test ways to make the cars go faster using ramps, weights, and air power.
Language Arts - I am going to wait until after spring break to give the next spelling test but will give them their new words tomorrow.
On Friday it is Super Hero Day and all RBES students are encouraged to dress up as their favourite super hero.
Congrats to all our athletes who have been competing this past week in various competitions. I can't believe all our stars this week!
-All our floor hockey players. (Gold, 2 silvers, bronze)
-Evan went to provincials for hockey.
-Hailey came in first over all for her division in a gymnastics meet on Sunday.
-Makayla's tap team got first place at the Dance Power Festival.
