Wrapping Up

As we begin our final weeks of the school year we are busier than ever. Here are some notes to help keep it all straight...

Swimming - Starts on Monday and will run until the end of next week.
Assembly- Our class will be performing at the assembly on June 21st with 4G a series of Dinosaur themed presentations. Parents are invited to watch what they have been practicing.
Year end - We are going to Fort Edmonton Park for our year end field trip on June 27th. More to come on this soon.
Fun Day - This will be on June 25th.
Language Arts - We are concluding our poetry unit this week and will do a final quick novel study of, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. There are no new spelling words assigned but we will of course continue to do various spelling activities and games.
Math - A measurement test will be given on Thursday which will include telling time, 24 hour time, elapsed time, calendar reading and finding area of shapes. We will conclude the year with a study of shapes and geometry. There will be no final test for this topic.
Social Studies - We have begun a Photostory project celebrating a famous Albertan from the past. For more information on this project you can click Bring Alberta's History to Life.
Science - We have pretty much concluded our official science topics for the school year but will expand a bit more on plant growth in the next couple of weeks.

I have begun to sort through all the Drumheller pictures and will post some for you this week too. We sure did have a great time. It was such a hit I have already booked for next years grade 4's.
