The Week Ahead...

Math:
Tomorrow we are starting a new math unit on Measurement. I will be sending a little letter home to you with more details about the unit and how you can help your child at home.

LA:
We began our poetry unit by reading and writing rhyming couplets in class yesterday. We were sure to give them a humorous twist which had us all in stitches when reading them out to each other. Tomorrow we will be moving onto synonym poems.

Social:
Yesterday we set up 2 competing trading posts in our classroom. Students had the opportunity to be both Native hunters and European fur traders. As Native hunters, they traded in their various furs at the post for different goods. I loved hearing the reasons why they made the trades they made and if they thought they were fair.

Spelling:
New spelling words have been posted and will be added to the agenda's tomorrow morning. There are only 10 new words on the list. The remaining words will be chosen from our Nifty Fifty list which has been posted on www.spellingcity.com.
