Peter Pan and Pilot Projects

Today students enjoyed the St. Albert's Children's Theatre's production of Peter Pan. It was a fantastic production and I was so impressed with how respectful all the RBES kids were in following theatre etiquette. A big thanks needs to go to Mrs. Stanski for organizing such a great experience for our school.

As I briefly mentioned previously, our grade 4's were chosen to pilot using Google Chrome on netbooks for Black Gold Schools. On Wednesday we introduced the program to the class by getting them logged on and having them create and collaborate (through file sharing) multiplication stories that they wrote. The class quickly caught on to how the program works. Much faster than Mrs. Glasgow and I did even! Each student was set up with their own Black Gold username and password and can access all their files from anywhere with internet by simply logging on to Google Chrome. This will be a great opportunity too for you to be able to view some of your child's work from home as we add to the files. Stay tuned for more on this in a future posting.
