It was a short but busy week in 4A. We grew some seriously appetizing mold (on purpose of course), learned a new math game and took a walking field trip to the Devon Recycle Center (picture to follow soon). To test to see if things decompose at the same rate, we set up 5 different environments for some organic lettuce leaves. Over the week, we watched as some started to decompose, some dried up and some just "look gross" to quote one of the kids. We will continue to follow the process of decomposition of the leaves for another week as well as another experiment we set up regarding the rate of biodegration of different objects.

Sent home this week:
1. Hot lunch forms
2. Class picture forms
3. Drumheller survey (I realized as I was handing it out that Drumheller was spelled wrong on the paper.)
4. Turkey Chase info
5. Waste Management Field Trip form

Also, if you haven't sent back the Owl/Chickadee form yet, please do so. Even if you don't want to subscribe, if we get enough forms turned back (including the no's) they will send a free subscription for our class.

Coming next week...pictures of the science lab we did this week where the class got to experiment with red wriggler worms!
