Drumheller Information

It looks like Drumheller will be a go! I have secured our dates as May 22-23 and a coach bus as well for the journey. The maximum number of passengers allowed on a coach is 56 and since we have 53 students we will not be able to take parents who are chaperoning on the bus with us. I am sure you would prefer to coordinate driving together without a bus full of excited, noisy kids anyways.

According to the survey, most parents preferred to pay for the trip out of pocket. However, many also displayed interest in helping to organize fundraisers to help reduce the overall cost of the trip which is going to be approximately $130 per child. We were given a last minute opportunity to do fruit sales starting next week so we jumped on it as a school wide fundraiser. Letters will be sent home with every Robina student next week seeing if they want to order fruit or cookie dough. Proceeds from that fundraiser will go towards covering the overall cost of the trip.

We understand that this trip is not cheap and so some parents would prefer to do a lot of fund raising. However, many indicated that they did not want to fund-raise at all and opted to just pay flat out. A letter is going home with your child this week to "officially" see if you would like to opt out of the fund raising and helping with the organizing of it. Please understand that if you do opt out, you will be responsible for the full cost of the trip. Also know that if you would like to take advantage of the fundraising proceeds, that you will be expected to help with the process.

Please email me any questions you might have about this.
